Development potential / Envelope studies

Any development site can be constrained by a number of factors. These constraints can come from Rights of Light, Vertical Sky Component, Average Daylight Factor or Sunlight Availability. Waterslade can produce an 'envelope' showing the limits within which a building must remain in order to respect the constraint. Some sites are governed by a combination of these constraints, and this can also be done. The result is a shape in 3D, representing the various heights and angles determined by the constraints. Architects can then design their scheme within the envelope. Shown below are a few images of such an envelope .
